Men 3XI vs Bodmin 2

A truly wet and miserable day to play hockey. However, the 3’s fought through to take an important victory against Bodmin 2’s.

Early goals by Ben Pennington, with some excellent support play from Will Smart meant that the 3’s took an early 2-0 lead. Bodmin fought back to reduce the deficit to 2-1, before Will Smart restored the 2 goal advantage with a finish following some great play by Aaron Buckingham.

The conditions continued to drown both sets of players and Bodmin pressed for the next goal. The 3’s played some neat hockey with Will Cairns and Charlie Irish controlling midfield. Paul Marchant had his usual outstanding game and continuously prevented Bodmin from getting a shot at goal. Paul supported by Toby Acharya, Paul VB, and debutant James Parsons kept Bodmin attackers away from goal. Codie had another impressive game marshalling the defence.

In the end, the 3’s scored the final goal following impressive work from Ollie Langrishe. He placed a neat pass to Ben who placed the assist to Will Smart to finish.

Special mention to Joe Easterbrook who worked tirelessly in the fullback position, and Paddy Acharya for some great touches and causing the Bodmin defence endless problems.MOM went to Paul Marchant. Great game in awful conditions. Next week a trip to Truro
