Vets vs Bristol & West Mens O50

Vets vs Bristol & West Mens O50

Mens O50s travelled to Bristol for first round of EH Championship. The home side started strongly putting OCHC under pressure for the early part of the game. OCHCs stout goal-keeping and defending kept the game alive and only a fortuitous deflection from a short corner strike saw the home side go 1-0 up.

OCHC rallied and grew into the game. Clever midfield play started creating chances. An overlapping run from Simon West set up Paul Evans in front of goal who finished with aplomb. 1-1 game on. A few minutes later it looked like 1-2 to OCHC. Again clever short passing on the left side resulted in Mike Timpson feeding Neil Titford on the baseline. Neil deftly flicked the ball into the net only for the half time whistle to be blown with ball in mid flight. Frustrating but a good end to the half.

OCHC continued with good play into second half and started building pressure on the home side who were now playing on the counter. A well worked counter attack and tidy finish saw the home side regain the lead. The lead was extended a few minutes later with what can only be described as a mis hit that somehow span into the net. 3-1 OCHC were up against it now.

The response from OCHC was good but the luck wasn’t with us today. The final part of the game was an onslaught with OCHC putting wave after wave of attacks together and culminating in a series of short corners. It was the home sides turn to defend and they did it well and held onto their advantage.
