With all our youngsters playing in some U14 matches today we faced Plymouth Lions with a much older team than usual, excluding our amazing under age goalie, Cat Serra!
The Lions played one short, but their team of mainly U16 made up for the shortfall! One adult managed to barge into and hurt our 4 defenders, Lorri Rickard, Aimee Neal, myself (the first to be taken out by her!) and Rute Serra, who was last seen heading for the Cumberland Centre to have her jaw checked…..jeez!
I had words with the Lions Captain afterwards.
The team played really well and we had quite a few chances to score, but alas didn’t!
Our forwards were Olivia West, Nickki Chadwick and Luci Barber and the midfielders Lyndsey Gribble, Sarah Gray and Charlotte Spreckley.
Everyone one played lots of good hockey…..loosing 3 - 0 almost seemed irrelevant!
Lindsey and Sarah received MOM votes but today it was a family affair with Rute beating Cat by one vote!
Thanks must be given to our supporters and Simon West our umpire…..I watched his successful match this afternoon 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾.
Thanks also to the older players who helped us out. X👍🙂👏🏾🏑
