Women 5XI vs Plymouth Lions

Wow, what a brilliant game we had this morning!

Plymouth Lions only had 10 players and no goalie and we had 12 players, plus Luci Barber, who was happy to support us from the sideline. I decided on the spot to offer my services leaving Rute Serra to play with a complete team of U13s…..they were amazing!

Thanks to Gavin’s advice and coaching I felt my team were in great hands! I warned the Lions that they’d need to do some serious marking!

Some excellent hockey was played by both teams in the true spirit of Sunday hockey….the Lions team also had lots of U13s in their team.

From my Lions sweeping position our forwards and midfielders seemed to very effectively swop positions throughout the match - they were Margot Elliot and Summer Roberts (both playing their first match with W5), Sofia Higgins, Tegen Hunt, Rae Mossford and Erin Royston (who got past me and scored!👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾)

The backs, Freya Barber, Isabelle Knight, Charlotte McMaster, Rute and Amelia Barber in goal all had very impressive games.

MOM votes went to Amelia, Margot, Charlotte, Rae, Eryn and Rute, but the winner this week by one vote was Sofia👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾!

Thanks must be given to Tori for her excellent umpiring and to the supporters, one of whom thought I should be knocked over….I think he / she might need an interview without coffee!

It was so good to watch the W5 play so well together……well done everyone! X👍🙂🏑👏🏾
