Well what a good game we had this morning despite the result! Some really excellent hockey was played and our forwards, (Amelie Haley, Luci Barber, Olivia West and Sofia Higgins) certainly gave the Lions goalie something to think about! Amelie and Luci both scored brilliant goals.
The midfield players, (Lyndsey Gribble, Charlotte Spreckley, Freya Barber and Tegen Hunt) all had great games, as did the backs (Charlotte McMaster, Rute Serra and Eryn Royston).
It took us a wee while to settle so unfortunately the Lions got 4 goals past Amelia Barber…..2 were flukes if you ask me as they hit the posts! Then, with some good advice from Rute, we got the hang of marking and getting back and played much better.
After half time Tegan, Eryn and Freya tried new positions with great success!
MOM votes went to Luci, Rute, old Charlotte, Olivia and Tegen but the winner this week was Amelie with young Charlotte coming a very close second!
Thanks must be given to our umpires (Simon West and Oli Morton) and the supporters on the side line.
Well done everyone and thanks for a fun match.x👍🙂🏑
