The 3’s last pre-season game was against our first opponents of the season (next weekend). The opposition provided a good test and the 3’s entered a youthful team mixed with a bit of experience.
Our focus was again on playing good hockey and the defence worked the ball well at the start of the match, although the Duchy attack did well to keep the pressure in our half.
As the first half progressed we started to take control of aspects of the game and pushed a few chances just wide of the post.
The first half ended 0-0, but unfortunately Duchy went ahead within 2 minutes of the restart. Our heads could have dropped, but we pushed back and after good play by Paddy A with a sneaky pass to Spider we equalised.
The game continued with chances for both teams but Duchy managed to get ahead for the final time.
A good team performance and special mentions to Isaac (great saves), Joe (awesome distribution), George and Ollie (excellent harassing and tackling in midfield), Freddie and Paddy (tireless running upfront) and cameo appearance for Reuben.
