A rather sleepy OCHC team (a 7am start should be illegal on a Sunday) turned up looking for revenge on Newton Abbot after a narrow 3-2 loss a few weeks back.
Despite the 9:30am pb in Torbay, a little mix and match W2s were feeling up for it and ready to secure a win after another narrow 3-2 defeat the day before V Services 2s. Ellie, Becky and Hattie were “borrowed” from the 1s, and Vicky was enjoying her debut in goal.
What a debut it was, as Vicky made save after save to keep us in the game. Equally matched by Jen on the other end of pitch, who scored a hattrick to help the team to a 3-2 WIN this time around! I can almost taste the cup at this point! 🏆
Anna matched her speed and skill of the day before, but the best thing she did this game was to “get in Nancy’s head” and stop her scoring any goals. Erin also worked her socks off, nicking the ball off their centre back to assist Jenny’s final game-winning goal. And thank God, as flicks were looking scarily close…
Good work across the pitch, nice passages of play, passing in triangles and ultimately teamwork was what won us the game, and a win was just what we needed. Even if it means we now have to play another cup game! 🤣
MoM deservedly went to Vicky in goal, and let’s give Donkey to Dodds because funny. ✌🏻
